A buddy of mine sent me this picture of a SW plane taking off from runway 19R in Las Vegas. It is ligned up almost parallel with the strip, so you get a good view. Flying lets me see some beautiful things. One of the highlights of my new job is going to so many different cities and parts of the country. I love going to new places and look forward to future travel with the family when we have some time off. I began training with Southwest Airlines on June 13, 2007. The training was fast and furious, with my first official flight carrying red-blooded people on the 31st of July. Since then, I usually fly a trip a week (either three or four days at a time) with the rest of the time completely off. I have had a bunch of trips that overnight in Tucson, so I can be home for the night. I have a lot more free time now (to put blogs together and things like that). So far, it has been a fairly easy transition from Air Force life to civilian life. I am enjoying my job with Southwest. It gets easier and better by the day.
