A little while ago I took Gabs and Drake out for a fun night while Heather took Madison on a Mommy-Daughter date. We ended up going to Chuck-E-Cheese, but before we went there we had to get something at Target. While we were there, Gabs and Drake found some fun of their own on the tupperware and storage isle. I don’t know how they manage to come up with things like this at the spur of the moment, but I love it.

Fearless
This video was taken months ago during the summer when Drake was about 18 months or so. He has always loved to swim and jump in the pool. You really need to watch him close because he truly is fearless around water. I couldn’t believe it when he jumped off the hot tub ledge into the pool the first time. I told Heather to come out with the video camera and this was the first time she had seen him do it as well. He just jumps right in with no second thought about it. Funny stuff.
Hold that pose!!!
We have some friends up the street who had a birthday party for their daughter. She is a photographer, so one of the things she did for the girls was have a photo shoot for them. This was one of the shots that she took of Gabrielle. I don’t know how she got it, or what possessed Gabrielle to jump like she did, but the end shot is hilarious.
Happy Halloween
Here’s a shot of the official 2010 Halloween outfit winners. Boots was actually excited to get in his Spiderman outfit. The girls would take him up to the door and he quickly found out that people would hand out treats (often by the handful) into his bag. He liked to wave to people as he was walking away down the porch as well. Now we have WAY too much candy laying around this house. Everyone has been on a sugar high all morning.

Stairs or amusement park???
I don’t think it’s possible to have stairs without sometime having the grand idea of using them as an amusement park. I know I did this as a kid. I don’t remember what we used. Maybe it was cardboard or sleeping bags like this. I just remember having lots of padding for our landing because the bottom of my stairs had a wall at the end and our stairs were STEEP!!! Good times, good times.
Friends on our street
These are some of the kids who live on our street. They all lined up for me to show off their respective toys. It’s great because they all just get shared around (scooters, bikes, remote controlled cars, whatever). We have a lot of kids and when the weather is good we all love to head outside and take over the street.

Scooters with boots
Knock on wood, but no major accidents so far with the scooters. Drake loves going on rides with the girls. I love this video because it shows Boots giving “knuckles” and also giving “high fives” to Gabs. When he gives knuckles, he always hits from above instead of doing the head on crash. I don’t know why, but it’s something that I get a kick out of. Of course, leave it to Gabrielle to come up with the hair-brained idea of giving Knuckles and High-Fives while riding scooters side by side.
Yummy bread!!!
Heather always teases me about ping-ponging from project to project. Well, my latest one dealt with cooking from a sun oven. We had completed our food storage and I got to thinking about different scenarios of preparedness. One of them was simply how you would be able to cook food if the need arose. I didn’t want to store fuel and firewood. After doing a search, this was my solution. I wanted to give it a try to make sure it actually worked. You can click on the picture and see the result of my first loaf of bread. I am happy to report that so far, with my limited experimentation, it works like a champ. I also made some apple crisp the other day as well. YUMMY!!! I’m excited to make more stuff now!!!
Hot tubbing until Jan 1
Well, our swim season is officially over. Even though the girls are still going to swim team, we did our final dip in the pool a week or two ago. Not bad, considering it extends into October. We will have to stick with occasional dips in the hot tub until our annual tradition of “polar bear club” on New Years Day. No matter how cold the water is, you gotta take a dip. :)

Gabrielle's first piano recital
Here’s a video of Gabrielle playing in her first piano recital. She was really nervous and didn’t want to do it, but when it came time she just marched right up there and did just great. We were very proud of her brave performance. The piece she played is called “Rain Dance”.
Happy Birthday Heather
Here is a video Madison made for Heather for her 35th birthday. You can see the cake we made for her. It comes from a tin that makes the cake in two different sections. When you cook it and put it together, it looks like a giant cupcake. The girls gave it as a gift this year out of their own allowance money. Stay tuned for future birthdays with fun cupcake designs...
Madison's school announcement
This year, Madison is involved in her school media. She is responsible for video taping and editing movies for the beginning announcements and things like that. She loves this class and seems to have found a hobby as well. This is her second project that she has done for the class and it played for the school a few days ago. Enjoy...
Halloween preview
Here’s your preview for Halloween this year. Madison and Gabrielle are princesses with dresses they found at Ross. They wanted Drake to be a frog to go along with the theme. Heather found a frog outfit but couldn’t pass up the Spiderman (he refuses to wear the hat). Click on the picture to view other Halloween pictures. What do you think??? Send us your vote for Spiderman or the frog??? dhpritt@cox.net
